Career John Tanner has taught at Brigham Young University since 1982. He has served as Chair of the English Department and as Associate Academic Vice President. He has also taught previously at Florida State University and has been a Fulbright Lecturer in Brazil. In 2004 he was appointed Academic Vice President of Brigham Young University.
