Description
An important component of the literary heritage of the Latter-day Saints is contained in the recorded sermons and speeches given in the annual and semiannual general conferences of the Church, held since 1830 to the present. These have circulated primarily for their value as religious instruction; however, these speeches form a substantial body of writings that are now studied not only for their religious and inspirational value, but also for their literary qualities and for the valuable cultural and historical information which they preserve. The Mormon Literature Database aims to include records of all such speeches and sermons. However, this represents a large body of data and at present only select conferences have been input into the database so far. |
